Taikodani Inari Shrine is counted as one of
the five greatest Inari Shrines in Japan. Believers from all over Japan make a wish
to the deity happiness and fulfilment of their dreams. At first, this shrine
was established as a spiritual protection of Tsuwano Castle. So the Motomiya
(the former shrine) faces toward the castle, but new one (built in 1969) faces
to the heart of Tsuwano town.
